About Us

Welcome to Troop 723!

We have been serving our youth and our community in Placentia for over 50 years. Our weekly meetings are held on Tuesday nights at the Placentia United Methodist Church (2050 Valencia Ave.) at 7:00 p.m.and usually run until 8:30 p.m. year round.

One of the goals of the Boy Scouts of America is to build leadership and life skills.  Upon visiting our Troop, you will soon discover that the elected Scout leadership runs our troop.  These older Scouts plan the meetings and activities.  The role of the adult leaders is to provide guidance and direction to the youth.  In our troop, we emphasize that skills are learned through experience.  We encourage the adults to allow the Scouts to learn through their accomplishments and challenges.

The Troop committee meeting is an important part of our troop.  One of our troop policies requires that each Scout that joins our troop must also have an adult that joins as well.  Each registered adult is automatically a member of the Troop committee and is encouraged to participate in the monthly meetings.  It has been apparent for many years that those Scouts that have the most fun, stay in the program, and advance in rank to Eagle Scout, almost always have a parent that is actively involved with them.

Please feel free to download the attached planning calendar, below. It was developed by the Scouts and will give you a good idea of the many fun and exciting things we have going on.
