2018 Friends of Scouting Campaign

Our 2018 Friends of Scouting Campaign kicked off at last week's Troop meeting with a fun game of Scouting Jeopardy.  Please support the Boy Scouts of America organization by making a donation to our Orange County Council.  You may not realzie this, but the cost to run the BSA program is more than $300 per Scout per year!  (See the attached flyer to see all that BSA pays for each year - things like insurance, advancements, record keeping, and campgrounds.)  To help us reach our goal of 100% participation, we are holding a Patrol Competition.  If every family in a Patrol makes a donation during the next month, the Patrol will earn a pizza party!  The amount you give is not important.  Whether you give $5, $50, or $500, your donation will make a difference, and it shows that you support BSA and its mission.  You can give online by visiting http://ocbsa.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=1177035&supid=442782138, or bring your donation to George Lyles, our FOS chair.  Thank you for participating and helping our Troop reach our goal!

Merit Badge Day - Equipment Needed

Merit Badge Day is only 2 weeks away and we need your help!  We are expecting almost 300 Scouts to attend and to accommodate everyone, we need more EZ-Ups, tables, projectors, and extra large coolers.  If you have any of these items that we can use, please sign up on our Shutterfly account (https://troop723photos.shutterfly.com/).  Items can be dropped off during Set-Up on Friday, May 4, between 5-7 pm, or Saturday, May 5, between 6-7 am.  You can pick up your items after the event on Saturday, May 5 between 3-5 pm. Please label everything with your name.   Thank you for helping make this event a success!

Scout-O-Rama Adventure Cards Sales Ends April 24

If you haven't picked up your Adventure Cards yet, please do it this week.  All monies from card sales must be turned in no later than Tuesday, April 24, 2018.  Per our fundraising requirements, each Scout family must pusrchase one card.  Any additional cards sold will earn $3 commission into your Scout's account.  Prizes will be given to our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place sellers.  Please see our Fundraising Chair, Sebrina Diaz, to pick up your cards.

Sign up to to volunteer at Merit Badge Day - May 5th

Our 4th annual Merit Badge Day is less than 4 weeks away!  If you haven't signed up to work a shift yet, please do so as soon as possible.  We really need volunteers to work as classroom aides so we have 2-deep leadership in all classes.  It is an easy job, and does not require any experience. All families are required to support this event - if you are unable to work a shift, please see Maria Dolliver or Jill Rogers to get a donation sheet.  If your family is not signed up by April 17th, we will be assigning you to a shift that is unfilled.  It takes our whole troop to pull this event off, and we thank you for your support! 

Autism Awareness month is here!

Show your support! Pick up your Autism Awareness wristband at the troop meeting and wear it the whole month of April. A suggested donation of $5 for each wristband is greatly appreciated. Thank you! All donations received from the wristbands will be donated to Troop 723.

No Troop Meeting on April 3rd

Many of our Scouts are enjoying the Canoe Trip on the Colorado River this week, so there will not be a Troop Meeting on Tuesday.  We hope you all have a wonderful and safe Spring Break.  See you at Camporee Practice on Saturday, April 7.
